control of raw materials

1 The use of paperboard

the book cover paperboard specially produced for hardcover books and picture books shall be selected, and the storage time shall be more than half a year. The shrinkage of this kind of paperboard is small, which can reduce the possibility of deformation when making the book cover. During the cutting of the paper cutter, 2mm allowance shall be added to each side of the finished product size. After the rough sample is drawn, the cutting beveled edge shall be processed into a smooth edge to eliminate the beveled edge caused by single knife cutting and reduce blistering and edge wrapping skew after edge wrapping. The length of the paperboard is the length of the book block plus 6mm, and the width is the width of the book block minus 2mm

2. Medium diameter paper is generally 80-240g/m2. If the paper is cut in the longitudinal direction and used as the length of the medium diameter paper, it can prevent the uneven back after shrinkage. The length of the medium diameter paper is the same as that of the book cover paper, and the width is the back arc length after rounding and ridging (the square endorsement is the back width plus 2 times the paperboard thickness)

3. Use of auxiliary materials

(1) the plug cloth shall be starched with starch first. When sticking the plug cloth, the position shall be correct without deflection; The edges and corners of the plug cloth shall be exposed outside the cut at the upper and lower ends of the book block and parallel to the cut; After pasting, it shall be straight and firmly bonded with the same margin on both sides. Its length is 1 longer than the width of the back of the book, which can easily complete the experimental function; In addition, it is equipped with a special lengthened jaw for steel strand to ensure that the fracture in the sample is mm

(2) select Paste gauze. Its length is 22-26mm shorter than the book block. The width is 40mm thicker than the book block

(3) generally, 100-120g/m2 offset paper is used for the back of the book, so that the longitudinal lines follow the top and bottom of the back of the book to facilitate segmentation

(4) the book block belt uses a 5-8mm wide silk ribbon, with the diagonal length of the book block as the length of the ribbon, which is generally pasted at 15mm on the back of the book

4. Use of sealing fabric

customers require that the full size of lacquer paper fabric is: the length is the length of the cardboard plus 30mm, and the width is twice the width of the cardboard plus the width of the medium diameter paper plus 44mm. 4. Rounding

the standard arc of the back of hardcover books should take the thickness of the book block as the diameter, and the center angle of the back arc is about 130 °. However, the thicker the book block, the smaller the circular potential, and the thinner the book block, the larger the circular potential. In order to unify the arc size of the processed book block, each book should be compared with the autocratic mold arc after rounding to ensure that the arc length and the floating mouth of the subsequent process are consistent. When manually scraping the circle, you can use a steam iron to fold the back of the book upward. Others spent thousands of pieces together. Put a towel on it and iron it back and forth with steam for several times to soften the glue on the back of the book. Then you can use a wood hammer to knock the circle by hand. This method can prevent the cover paper inserts from being damp, wrinkled or glued, and improve the binding quality

when making a book cover, first adjust the size of the mask frame, and mark the width of the back of the book on the upper stop gauge to ensure that the words on the back of the book are centered. When putting in the paperboard, the paperboard should lean to the left and right sides to overcome the error in the cutting of the paperboard and ensure that the size of each book cover is consistent after it is finished. After the book seal shell is completed according to the quality requirements, the edges of the four sides are scraped with bamboo to prevent the edges from being loose and empty. Then, the two pairs of the two book covers shall be stacked, and the middle seam shall be padded with cardboard of the same thickness as the book cover, so as to press down the middle diameter edge of the cover. Each pile of newly completed book covers shall be pressed once under the control of pressure, and then the covers shall be separated, the cushion strips shall be removed, and the books shall be spread and stacked in one direction, and heavy objects shall be pressed on them to prevent warping. Before sealing, the sealing shell shall be erected and dried in the shade to make it dry naturally. In the plum rain season, preservatives should be added to the shell glue to prevent mildew when it is dried in the natural shade

before the upper shell of the round back book, the center seam shall be preheated and formed on the self-made round back tool to facilitate its fitting with the back of the book, and make the back of the book consistent with the middle of the book seal shell. Focus on the prevention of uneven warpage on the surface of the book cover: (1) use animal glue with small moisture, fast drying and good shaping. (2) Adjust the internal and external tension of the book cover paperboard to make its internal and external moisture balance. (3) The finished products shall be flattened after stacking, and then dried with circulating air. After they are completely dried, they shall be inspected or packaged

when the book sealing process is carried out, first brush the glue on the inner groove of the book sealing shell, and then try to set the shell according to the reverse direction of the book block and the book sealing shell, so that the floating ports on the three sides of the head, foot and front mouth are equal. The film surface faces the book block to help absorb moisture, and prevent moisture from entering the ring lining to wrinkle the pages. In addition, the casing personnel are required to cover the personal ID number on the ring liner to prevent the book block from being reversed. Try to check whether the three sides of the book are consistent, and whether the back and spine of the book are flat. The lining sweeper shall lift the brush when it is close to the edge to prevent wild glue and incision adhesion
